Conscious Breathwork Basics

Level 1 of the nūma somatics facilitator training is an experiential dive into the therapeutic modality of Conscious Breathwork.  It is your opportunity to deepen your personal experience with Conscious Breathwork and develop an understanding of its foundational theories, philosophy, and science.  You will both receive and provide Conscious Breathwork sessions with fellow students as you develop the practical skill sets required to safely facilitate transformational one-on-one Breathwork sessions.

You'll learn to:

  • foster a confidential healing space

  • read basic psycho-emotional patterns embedded within the body's tensions and habitual breathing patterns

Level 2

Breathwork:  Exploring Psyche and Soma

Level 2 of the nūma somatics facilitator training is an experiential deepening of your understanding of Conscious Breathwork and your capacity to offer it as an effective healing and mind-expanding tool. Together, we will explore the expansive framework of Transpersonal Psychology and how the seemingly endless gamut of Breathwork experiences can be embraced from this global point of view. Specific principles and practices from various fields of psychology that are complementary to the Breathwork will be investigated and practiced.  You will continue to both receive and provide Breathwork sessions with fellow students as you expand your practical skill sets and increase your efficacy in facilitating one-on-one sessions.

You'll also learn to:

  • read an increasing array of psycho-emotional patterns held within the body and breath

  • understand potential patterns that may have been sourced during gestation and/or in the birthing process

  • incorporate a wide variety of complementary tools and practices such as sound healing, dyad-based inquiry, and bioenergetic/trauma release somatic exercises

The total hours of training (80.25 hours) include the five (5) day in-person training, two web meetings, home studies, and a practicum.  Home studies include review of teachings during the Level 2 training as well as assigned studies and practicum hours during the time between Level 2 and Level 3.

Level 3

nūma somatics

Level 3 of facilitator training is where we begin to swath the new track that is nūma somatics. Breathwork is a practice that is both shamanic, delving into non-ordinary states of consciousness, and somatic, delving into the body and breath-based patterns of stress and trauma.  The nūma somatics practice incorporates, for that reason, an ever-deepening investigation of the practices somatic roots, the on-going developments of theories, principles, and practices within numerous schools of somatic psychotherapy, and the inclusion of experiential somatic movement practices.  It is at this point that your capacity grows into a continuum of which Conscious Breathwork is only a part; albeit still a key part.  You will both receive and provide nūma somatics sessions with fellow students as you develop your evolving skill sets.

You'll learn to:

  • incorporate a variety of somatic psychotherapeutic theories, principles, and practices into your facilitation

  • read an increasingly complex degree of somatically held psycho-emotional patterns and develop possible relationships between the patterns to understand the client's unique life narrative

  • be trauma-sensitive as you support deep release within the body and breath

  • incorporate a wider variety of sound healing tools

The total hours of training (80.25 hours) include the five (5) day in-person training, two web meetings, home studies, and a practicum.  Home studies include review of teachings during the Level 3 training as well as assigned studies and practicum hours during the time between Level 3 and Level 4.

You'll develop the capacity to:

  • hold a confidential healing space for groups of individuals
