nūma somatics Advanced Training Modules

Alternative Breathwork Practices & The Continuum of Consciousness

3 day, 50 hour training

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of the nūma somatics Facilitator Training.

An exciting exploration of a wide range of alternative breathwork experiences, including warm water and cold water breath sessions, mirror and partner breathwork sessions, long (2 -3 hour) breath journeys, and breathwork using different breathing patterns, inspiration techniques, visualizations, complementary practices, and integration practices.

To complement the experiential depth dives, you'll more deeply explore a psychological and philosophical framework that supports the full gamut of breathwork experiences, including death and rebirth experiences, perinatal experiences, past-lives experiences, spiritual/numinous experiences, and other experiences of non-ordinary states of consciousness.  "Dark nights of the soul," spiritual emergencies, and the difference between seeking to feel better versus Truth seeking will be discussed.

The total hours of training (50 hours) include the three (3) day in-person training (25 hours) and

assigned home studies (25 hours).

Pattern Specific Client Self-Care

3 day, 50 hour training

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of the nūma somatics Facilitator Training.

Broaden your therapeutic reach by developing a toolkit to support your clients beyond sessions and workshops.

Within this advanced module you will learn to evaluate habitual postural and tensional patterns related to the common breathing patterns that you will encounter in your clients.  You will develop a simple, effective toolkit of basic yoga postures, somatic exercises, pranayama (yogic breathing techniques), and self-applied bodywork techniques that can be offered to your clients as self-care practices for between sessions to optimize their release and integration of negative patterns.

You will also learn basic information around the use of specific sounds, essential oils, foods and nutritional supplements that may provide additional benefit in the resolution of specific breathing patterns.

The total hours of training (50 hours) include the three (3) day in-person training (25 hours) and

assigned home studies (25 hours).

Pattern Specific Bodywork

Module A: Releasing the Torso (3 day, 5hour training)

Module B: Releasing the Limbs (3 day, 5hour training)

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of the nūma somatics Facilitator Training.

Throughout the facilitator training you developed the capacity to read the tensional patterns embedded within the client's body and breathing.  Now deepen your ability to facilitate the release of these tensional patterns in the body.

In Module A you will learn to discern which muscles of the torso are implicated in the habitual retention of each of the common patterns that you will often encounter in your clients. Then you'll develop the hands-on skills to catalyze the release of these specific muscular holding patterns.

Module B will look at how tensional patterns in the client's limbs can relate to tensional patterns in the body's core.  The meridian system of Chinese Medicine will be explored as a way to understand and affect the entire body via the limbs.  You'll develop the hands-on skills to strategically release holding patterns along the meridians.

Both modules will enhance your palpation skills and ability to recognize which techniques and types of touch are appropriate to utilize amidst the nūma somatics practice and which ones are best used pre- or post-nūma somatics to maximize overall client benefit.

The total hours for each module (50 hours) include the three (3) day in-person training (25 hours) and assigned home studies (25 hours).

Advanced Psycho-Emotional Body Reading

Module A: Complex Character Structures and Facial Reading (3 day, 5hour training)

Module B: Psycho-Emotional Correlations of Illness and Disease (3 day, 5hour training)

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of the nūma somatics Facilitator Training.

Take your capacity to read embodied psycho-emotional patterns to an all new level.

Module A focuses on the cultivation of your ability to more accurately read a client's tensional patterns, discerning finer details between the various habitual character structures that make up their particular personality type(s).  Reading of common facial structures and tensional patterns will also be investigated.   .

Module B addresses a broad selection of common symptoms, illnesses, and diseases that your clients may be experiencing.  You'll learn about possible chains of causation for these experiences and the related psycho-emotional patterns that may underlie the somatic distress. Disease pathways will be understood via a synthesis of Traditional Chinese Medicine and conventional medicine.

The total hours for each module (50 hours) include the three (3) day in-person training (25 hours) and assigned home studies (25 hours).
